Post-launch content for Activision and Treyarch’s upcoming first-person shooter, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, will include Black Ops 2 maps that have yet to be remastered.
During a rapid Q&A session on Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Treyarch Design Director Matt Scronce was asked if the game will receive some Black Ops 2 maps that haven’t been remastered before. In response, he acknowledged that this will indeed be the case.

Elsewhere during the interview, Scronce was asked about the overall philosophy for player movement in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. He responded by saying that the design philosophy was to “pull back a little bit”, based off of where the development team introduced omnimovement last year in Black Ops 6. Also, he mentioned that Tac Sprint has been removed by default and the base movement speed has been increased That said, those who still want Tac Sprint can pick a perk that lets them use it. According to him, the overall idea is to ensure that not everybody is quite as “aggro”, but those who want to play that way are still given the opportunity to do so via the perk system.
Regarding the game’s kinetic jump, Scronce clarified that the mechanic is specific to the co-op campaign and is not featured in Black Ops 7’s competitive multiplayer mode. The latter features a refined omnimovement and wall jump. He added that the competitive mode will not include wall running or jet packs. However, wall jumps cam be chained up to 3 times.
Recently, Call of Duty insider TheGhostOfHope shared new details on the maps featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 at launch. As per them, the aforementioned maps are “more colorful” than those seen in Black Ops 6, and much closer to the maps of Black Ops Cold War. They also mentioned that there will only be 3 remastered maps from Black Ops 2 available at launch.
