Season 1 of Activision and Treyarch’s upcoming first-person shooter, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, will allegedly bring a Zombies map set on a space station.

Known Call of Duty insider TheGhostOfHope took to Twitter/X to reveal that Black Ops 7 Season 1 will bring an ambitious new Zombies map set aboard a space station, making it one of Treyarch’s most imaginative settings to date. The insider claims that the map, titled Astra Malorum, is featured in an observatory built atop a massive skull with a red glow, floating in space. Another source told him told them that the map may have some parts that take place on Earth, much like in the original Call of Duty: Black Ops’ Moon mpa, though they aren’t 100% confident about this information.

The location appears to be part of Treyarch’s effort to push Zombies into even more surreal and cosmic territory, especially now that Black Ops 7 is set within the Dark Aether universe. This aligns with the studio’s stated direction of exploring the twisted consequences of the Aether’s corruption and how it reshapes reality.

Besides the setting, TheGhostOfHope also mentions that the Wonder Vehicle, will continue to play a role in the overarching narrative beyond just Ashes of the Damned. It may tie into the main Easter Egg quest, revealing how Tessie the Truck and TEDD, the robotic bus driver from TranZit, found their way into the Dark Aether. Treyarch previously confirmed that TEDD has been in the Dark Aether for a very long time.

The insider also mentioned that all of the previously rumored Zombies maps, including the likes of including Nuked NYC, Vietnam, and Afghanistan, were canceled and replaced. Those leaks were based primarily on early concept art and bios for new iterations of the Original Crew. However, the Japanese Volcano Temple map is still moving forward, and the he current plan is still 5 DLC maps. Additionally, there are plans to have a remake map amongst them,

Last month, TheGhostOfHope had mentioned hearing from someone they trust back in March that Treyarch got “scared” of adding Nazi elements and reworked/cut the original NYC idea that was previously leaked.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is set for release across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
