Activision’s Call of Duty: World at War and Singularity are set for release on Xbox Game Pass in May, 2025, based on a new rumor.
Known insider eXtas1stv took to Twitter/X to share that, according to their sources, Call of Duty: World at War will be added to the Xbox Game Pass catalog sometime during May, 2024, the same month in which Singularity is also allegedly set to arrive on the subscription service.
The insider pointed out that Call of Duty: World at War has already been added to the Microsoft Store for PC, and that, based on the listing it does not support achievements. As for other Call of Duty titles that have yet to make their way to Xbox Game Pass, the insider said that there will be another entry making its way to the subscription service in March, 2024, though they didn’t have any further details in this regard. They added that there will be no Call of Duty title added to Game Pass before then, and that World at War is the only entry in the series that will be added during May, 2025.
The recent appearance of older Call of Duty titles, including Call of Duty 1, Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (2007), Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009), Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (2011), Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, and Call of Duty: WWII, on the Microsoft Store for PC seemed like the first step to their arrival on the Xbox Game Pass catalog.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 successfully launched day one on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Game Pass PC. While there were concerns regarding the move potentially hurting Microsoft’s revenue, Daniel Ahmad, Director of Research and Insights at Niko Partners, and Mat Piscatella, Executive Director and Video Game Industry Analyst at Circana (NPD), had reported that this was not the case. In fact, as per them, the day one availability of Black Ops 6 on Xbox Game Pass has been a net benefit to the software giant.
