Capcom has officially revealed the Mega Man Star Force: Legacy Collection, a comprehensive package that will compile every entry in the Star Force sub-series. Scheduled for release in 2026, the collection will be available across PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch, giving long-time fans and new players alike a chance to experience the full trilogy in one package.
The Legacy Collection will include all the variations of each title, starting with the original Mega Man Star Force trio of Pegasus, Leo, and Dragon. It will also feature Mega Man Star Force 2 in its dual forms, Zerker X Ninja and Zerker X Saurian, along with Mega Man Star Force 3 versions Red Joker and Black Ace. This marks the first time the entire set has been officially bundled together.
Originally released in 2006 on the Nintendo DS, the first Mega Man Star Force was designed as a follow-up to the Mega Man Battle Network series, which had concluded the previous year. The game introduced players to Geo Stelar, an 11-year-old boy who merges with the FM-ian alien Omega-Xis after the presumed death of his father. Set in the futuristic world of 220X, the series blends everyday life with battles conducted through electromagnetic waves.
Following the initial release, two sequels expanded the story while maintaining the familiar combat style. The franchise even crossed paths with Battle Network in a Japan-exclusive enhanced port, Rockman.EXE: Operate Shooting Star, released in 2009. While the series has been dormant in recent years, this new collection is set to revive interest and preserve the titles for modern hardware.
Capcom has not yet shared details regarding additional features or quality-of-life updates for the Legacy Collection, though fans will likely hope for enhancements beyond simple emulation. Regardless, the announcement signals a renewed commitment to celebrating the history of one of Mega Man’s lesser-known but fondly remembered branches.
