As such, Capcom will continue to focus on expanding this business further.

Similar views were shared by Capcom regarding the Mega Man franchise during its 45th Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders. The company was asked about its future plans for the series, to which it noted that Mega Man is one of its highly-valued IPs. Therefore, Capcom expressed interest in creating games based on the IP on an ongoing basis.

It’s worth pointing out that Capcom hasn’t released a title in the Mega Man series since two years. The most recent release, Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection, is a series of video game compilations based on the franchise. Each compilation includes a number of playable Mega Man games in addition to new gameplay elements and supplemental materials, such as concept art. With the exception of the original Legacy Collection, which was created by Digital Eclipse and also released on the Nintendo 3DS, these compilations were developed internally at Capcom and released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Windows.
