Civilization VII Update 1.2.4 Patch 1 Brings Sticky Settings and Key Fixes on Steam and Epic

by Ali Haider

Civilization VII has released Update 1.2.4 Patch 1, available now on Steam and Epic. This update makes game setup more intuitive, with Age Transition Impact, Game Speed, and Difficulty now set as sticky options that carry over between campaigns. The Age Transition setting has also been moved out of advanced options, making it easier for players to access when starting a new game.

Alongside these setup improvements, the patch addresses several reported issues, including mouse input not registering, crossplay save loading errors, and problems with the Resource Screen. Additional adjustments improve cosmetic unlocks on Epic and add better debug menu access in single-player. Firaxis has also teased a potential new Age Transition setting called Collapse, which may arrive in a future update.
