PlayStationSize on Twitter/X has revealed the pre-load date and download size for Code Vein 2, courtesy of recent database entries made to PlayStation servers. The upcoming action role-playing game will take up a decent chunk of storage space on the PS5. As such, those with limited available space on the internal storage drive are advised to clear up some space in advance. It goes without saying that storage expansion options are available for those who need them.

The pre-load for Code Vein 2 will come with the latest version pre-installed for anyone who pre-orders a digital copy of the game, though an update may be rolled out closer to the early access release on January 27, 2026, as well as the game’s launch on January 30, 2026. Meanwhile, those who purchased a physical copy will likely be required to download a day one update. The download size of the PS5 version of Code Vein 2 (59.180GB) is significantly larger than that of the original Code Vein (33.627 GB).
The review embargo for Code Vein 2 is expected to be lifted close to launch day. While the exact time has not been confirmed, it will likely follow typical patterns, with the embargo lifting at 12 AM PT / 3 AM ET / 9 AM CET.
Code Vein 2 is set for release across Windows PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
