Remedy Entertainment’s upcoming action role-playing game, Control Resonant, is currently planned for release in the second quarter of 2026.
According to a new company report from Inderes, the planned release window for Control Resonant came as a positive surprise, as the firm had previously expected the game to arrive in the first half of 2027. Based on this new information, Inderes has updated its release assumption to the end of Q2 2026, while also acknowledging that a slip into Q3 remains possible until the schedule is fully confirmed. The earlier-than-expected launch has prompted Inderes to raise its target price for Remedy’s stock to EUR 19.0, up from EUR 17.0. However, due to a recent rise in the share price, the firm has revised its recommendation from Buy to Accumulate.
Control Resonant was officially unveiled at The Game Awards 2025, where Remedy Entertainment confirmed it as the sequel to Control. The game is set in an open-world version of Manhattan, with players taking on the role of Dylan Faden, the sibling of Control protagonist Jesse Faden. As per the developer, newcomers will be able to jump into the sequel without having played the original. The game is in development for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, and Mac. Remedy Entertainment will publish the game itself, while Annapurna Pictures will co-finance and co-produce the project as part of the companies’ previously announced strategic partnership.
The report estimates that Control Resonant will sell around 1.8 million copies in 2026 and approximately 2.2 million copies in 2027. As a result, Remedy Entertainment’s projected revenue for 2026–2027 is expected to exceed EUR 120 million, with EBITDA reaching slightly above EUR 20 million. Inderes also clarified that Annapurna’s share of sales will flow through Remedy’s income statement, increasing reported revenue but also appearing as an expense, leaving net returns largely unchanged.
Inderes views Control Resonant as a critical release for Remedy Entertainment’s long-term prospects. A successful launch would strengthen the Control brand, support the company’s share price through 2026, and potentially enable the developer to finance and publish future projects independently.
