Remedy Entertainment has reported significant growth in its Q2 2025 financial results, with revenue rising by 63.5 percent year-over-year to €16.9 million. EBITDA reached €4.2 million, a marked improvement from the €2.4 million loss in the same period last year. The company credited this surge to continued strong sales of Alan Wake 2 and Control, alongside the launch of its first self-published multiplayer title, FBC: Firebreak.
Control has now surpassed 5 million lifetime sales, with Remedy regaining full publishing, distribution, and marketing rights in early 2025. This shift allowed the studio to directly manage its sales strategies, resulting in positive momentum for the title. Alan Wake 2 also maintained steady sales during the quarter, with other titles in the Alan Wake franchise performing in line with expectations.
FBC: Firebreak, a three-player co-op shooter set in the Control universe, launched globally on June 17. While the game saw over one million players in its first 10 days—primarily on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5—the PC release underperformed on Steam. Remedy cited early onboarding and mission structure issues as factors contributing to high drop-off rates and negative initial reviews. However, subsequent updates improved reception, and a major content update is planned for late September.
Looking ahead, Remedy confirmed that Control 2 remains on track toward its next development milestones, with the team focusing on gameplay, environments, and mission design. The Max Payne 1 & 2 remake, being developed in collaboration with Rockstar Games, is also progressing steadily and remains in full production.
CEO Tero Virtala emphasized that the company’s long-term strategy involves self-publishing all Remedy-owned titles and expanding its established franchises, Control and Alan Wake, which are connected through the Remedy Connected Universe. By 2027, Remedy aims to double its 2024 revenue and maintain an EBITDA margin of at least 30 percent, with continued growth targeted through 2030.
With strong sales figures, multiple high-profile projects in development, and a growing emphasis on self-publishing, Remedy is positioning itself for sustained creative and commercial success in the years ahead.
