Crimson Desert Developers Reverse Course on Intel Arc Support, Confirm Work in Progress

Pearl Abyss has updated its stance on Intel Arc GPU support for Crimson Desert, confirming that compatibility is now in development after previously stating the game would not support the hardware.

Earlier, the official FAQ for the open-world action-adventure title clearly stated, “No, Crimson Desert currently does not support Intel Arc graphics cards. If you purchased the game expecting Intel Arc support, please refer to the refund policy of the platform where the game was purchased for available options. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.” That wording has since been replaced with a revised message indicating a shift in direction.

The updated FAQ now reads, “We are currently working on compatibility and optimization support so that Crimson Desert can also be enjoyed on Intel Arc GPU systems. We are preparing to provide a smooth and stable gameplay experience, and we would appreciate your patience until the support update becomes available.”

The developer also addressed the situation publicly on X, stating, “We are currently working on compatibility and optimization support so that Crimson Desert can also be enjoyed on Intel Arc GPU systems. We are preparing to provide a smooth and stable gameplay experience, and we ask for your patience until the support update becomes available.” The studio added, “We apologize for any confusion our FAQ wording from several hours ago regarding playability on Intel Arc GPUs may have caused. Please regard this as our latest official news on the subject. Thank you.”

Crimson Desert launched on March 19, 2026, following a seven-year development cycle. The game sold over two million units within its first 24 hours, despite receiving mixed-to-positive feedback, with criticism largely focused on its control complexity and inventory systems. Players assume the role of Kliff, a mercenary navigating the continent of Pywel, with gameplay built around the BlackSpace Engine and a system that allows abilities to be learned by observing NPCs and enemies.

The title is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, and macOS. The PC version requires an SSD, and Intel Arc support remains in development.
