Pearl Abyss has acknowledged player concerns regarding Crimson Desert’s control scheme, confirming that a patch is currently in development to address the issue. The update comes shortly after the game’s launch, as feedback continues to surface from players across platforms.
In a message shared on X, the official Crimson Desert account stated, “Since launch, we have been listening closely to your feedback and doing our best to make improvements to the game. In particular, we are aware of the discomfort many players have experienced with the controls, and we are currently preparing a patch to address this.” The studio also addressed concerns from PC users, adding, “We also want to apologize for not providing keyboard and mouse players with a satisfactory gameplay experience.”
The developers emphasized that community feedback is being actively monitored across multiple channels, including reports, videos, livestreams, and discussions. “Please know we are taking your feedback seriously and working to improve your gameplay experience as quickly as possible,” the statement reads.
Crimson Desert launched globally on March 19, 2026, following a lengthy development cycle. The open-world action-adventure quickly achieved strong commercial results, surpassing 2 million copies sold within its first 24 hours. Despite this early success, the game has received mixed to positive reviews, with criticism often focused on its complex controls and inventory systems.
Set in the continent of Pywel, the game follows mercenary Kliff as he navigates a world shaped by rival factions and supernatural threats. Built on the BlackSpace Engine, the title features seamless exploration and a progression system that allows players to learn abilities by observing non-player characters and enemies.
Pearl Abyss has indicated that further improvements are expected as it continues to respond to player feedback in the days following launch.
