Crimson Desert has crossed a major milestone shortly after release, with developer Pearl Abyss confirming that the game has sold more than 2 million copies worldwide within its first 24 hours. The announcement was shared via the game’s official social media account following its global launch on March 19, 2026.

In a statement, the official Crimson Desert account said, “We are incredibly humbled to share that #CrimsonDesert has sold through 2 million copies worldwide. Thank you so much to our fans, community, and everyone who has joined us in Pywel. We will listen closely to the wide range of feedback shared by the community and work to make improvements quickly, doing our utmost to make the journey ahead even more enjoyable for our players.”

Released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, the title has had a strong commercial debut. Set across the fantasy continent of Pywel, the game follows Kliff Macduff, a mercenary leader attempting to reunite his fractured Greymanes faction while confronting rival groups and supernatural threats. The experience is powered by Pearl Abyss’s BlackSpace Engine and features a mix of combat, traversal mechanics such as dragon riding and mech piloting, and a progression system centered around learning abilities by observing characters in the world.

Pearl Abyss has already begun addressing player feedback, releasing Update 1.00.02, which introduces a new tutorial quest tied to Abyss Gears and includes balance adjustments to early encounters, including the Reed Devil boss.
