Crimson Desert to Receive Major Updates With Boss Rematches, Skills, and Mounts

by Greg Martin

Pearl Abyss has outlined a slate of upcoming features for Crimson Desert, giving players an early look at new content and system improvements planned to roll out between April and June.

According to the latest developer update, the studio is focusing on expanding endgame challenges while refining core systems based on player feedback. Among the headline additions are boss rematches, allowing players to revisit previously defeated enemies to test their progression and experiment with different combat strategies. Another new activity, referred to as re-blockading, will task players with reclaiming areas overtaken by returning enemy forces, reinforcing the game’s dynamic world design.

Difficulty settings are also being introduced, offering easy, normal, and hard modes to accommodate a broader range of players. This change is positioned as a way to make the experience more flexible, whether for newcomers or those seeking a greater challenge.

Character improvements are also in development. Damiane and Oongka will receive new abilities designed to bring them in line with other powerful skills already in the game. Players will also gain the option to hide weapons carried on their character’s back, addressing immersion concerns, alongside the addition of new outfits and expanded usability for certain existing cosmetic items.

On the quality of life side, Pearl Abyss is introducing several specialized storage systems. These include dedicated storage for food, equipment, crafting materials, and collectibles, each designed to streamline inventory management and crafting workflows. The update will also expand the range of pets and mounts, with additional summonable options and new equipment planned for non-horse mounts.

System-level improvements are another key focus. The user interface will receive adjustments such as scalable font sizes to improve readability across the game’s 14 supported languages. Control customization is also being expanded, with more options for both controllers and keyboard and mouse setups.

Visually, the developers are working on enhancing distant scenery, aiming to improve environmental realism across Pywel. These changes may increase patch size due to higher quality rendering and environmental detail.

In addition to gameplay updates, Pearl Abyss confirmed that a Crimson Desert original soundtrack will be released for free on Steam and made available on major streaming platforms.

While the features are still in development and subject to change, the update provides a clear indication of the studio’s focus on both expanding content and refining the overall player experience in the months ahead.
