Cronos The New Dawn Adds Temporal Diver Mode in 2026

by Greg Martin

Bloober Team has announced a new difficulty mode for Cronos The New Dawn, expanding the game’s accessibility when the update arrives in early 2026. The new option, titled Temporal Diver Mode, will be available across all platforms as a free update for existing owners.

Temporal Diver Mode is designed for players who prefer exploration and narrative progression over punishing combat. While the story and core structure of Cronos The New Dawn remain unchanged, the mode adjusts combat balance by reducing enemy health by 50 percent and increasing player, referred to in-game as Travelers, health to double its standard value. According to Bloober Team, the intent is to offer smoother progression without removing the tension or fast-paced combat that defines the survival horror experience.

The developer emphasized that Temporal Diver Mode does not replace the existing difficulty options. Players who complete the game in this new mode are encouraged to revisit it on the standard difficulty, known as Anvil of the Collective, which delivers the full intended survival horror challenge. For those seeking an even more demanding experience, Forged in Fire Mode remains the highest difficulty setting and unlocks only after finishing the game on Anvil of the Collective.

With the addition of Temporal Diver Mode, Cronos The New Dawn will feature three difficulty options. Temporal Diver Mode offers increased player survivability and reduced enemy toughness, Anvil of the Collective serves as the baseline experience, and Forged in Fire Mode pushes players into a far more aggressive and unforgiving version of the game.

Players who have not yet experienced Cronos The New Dawn can currently try a free demo on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Progress made in the demo carries over to the full version of the game. Bloober Team has also confirmed a 25 percent discount on the full game as part of a winter sale running across all platforms, including Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Nintendo Store, and GOG. The sale on PlayStation platforms begins on December 22.

The full version of Cronos The New Dawn will receive the Temporal Diver Mode update at no additional cost when it launches in early 2026, offering both new and returning players another way to experience Bloober Team’s latest survival horror title.
