The production budget for Bloober Team’s upcoming survival horror game, Cronos: The New Dawn, has been revealed.

Speaking with bankier.pl, Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno addressed speculation surrounding the production budget of Cronos: The New Dawn. Contrary to reports that the game cost over PLN 100 million (about $27.5 million USD), he confirmed the actual figure was well below that threshold. As a result, the break-even point is significantly lower than previously believed, strengthening the company’s confidence in profitability.

One of Cronos’ main selling points is its optimization for current-generation console hardware. Babieno revealed that the title was developed from the outset with PS5 Pro in mind. “We had time to prepare, and the PS5 Pro version will definitely be appreciated by players,” he said. With consoles as the game’s primary market, the studio expects strong interest from PlayStation users.

The CEO also hinted at long-term ambitions for the Cronos universe. While Bloober Team isn’t planning a sequel in the near term, the studio has already seen interest from Hollywood and streaming companies about potential adaptations. That said, the studio’s immediate priority is delivering a complete, standalone experience that introduces the franchise to players worldwide.

Looking beyond Cronos, Babieno teased that Bloober Team’s next project will be even larger, continuing the studio’s strategy of scaling up with each release. With multiple titles in development, he believes the coming years may prove even stronger than 2025 for the company in the years to come.

As for Cronos: The New Dawn launching a day after Hollow Knight: Silksong,  Babieno said that Bloober Team still remains confident about its project’s prospects. He believes that the two titles appeal to very different audiences, eliminating any sense of competition.

Cronos: The New Dawn is set for release on September 5, 2025, for macOS, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
