PlayStationSize on Twitter/X has revealed the pre-load date and download size for the PS5 version of Cronos: The New Dawn, courtesy of recent database entries made to PlayStation servers. The upcoming survival horror game will take up a modest amount of storage space. That said, those with limited available storage on the internal drive are advised to clear up some space in advance. It goes without saying that storage expansion options are available for those who need them.

The pre-load for Cronos: The New Dawn will come with the latest update pre-installed for anyone who pre-ordered a digital copy of the game, though an update may be rolled out closer to the early access release on September 3, 2025, as well as the game’s launch on September 5, 2025. Meanwhile, those who purchased the game on disc will likely be required to download the update. The file size of the PS5 version of Cronos: The New Dawn (21.429 GB) is less than half of Bloober Team’s previous title, the Silent Hill 2 remake (50.535 GB).

The review embargo for Cronos: The New Dawn is expected to be lifted close to launch day. While the exact time has not been confirmed, it will likely follow typical patterns, with the embargo lifting at 12 AM PT / 3 AM ET / 9 AM CET.
