Bloober Team has announced the release of a native Steam Deck version of its survival horror title Cronos: The New Dawn. While the game launched in early September with full Steam Deck verification, today’s update introduces a dedicated build optimized specifically for Valve’s handheld platform. The developer states that the native release will deliver smoother performance and a more reliable gameplay experience for players on the go.
The move strengthens Bloober Team’s support for its newest IP, which debuted to generally positive reviews from critics. Since its launch on September 5, 2025, Cronos: The New Dawn has been available across multiple platforms including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, Windows, macOS, and Linux. Within its first month, the game sold approximately 200,000 units, with PlayStation platforms accounting for the majority of sales, while Steam represented around 25 percent.
During a recent investor Q and A, Bloober Team confirmed that Cronos was not currently receiving active development for DLC or sequels, though the studio emphasized its intention to expand the IP in the future. The discussion also highlighted the company’s ongoing projects, with one first-party team fully dedicated to the Silent Hill 1 Remake and another working on an undisclosed title, alongside five second-party collaborations.
Although management admitted there was “always some disappointment” around game launches, they described the reception to Cronos as a commercial success that has bolstered the studio’s long-term market position. With the arrival of a native Steam Deck version, the title now offers broader accessibility and improved technical performance, further solidifying its reach among handheld players.
