Bloober Team has released a new difficulty option for Cronos: The New Dawn, introducing Temporal Diver Mode on PS5 and PC starting today. The update, described as an easy mode, will also arrive on Xbox and Nintendo platforms in the near future. Alongside the new setting, the developer has added New Game Plus support across all difficulties and introduced a free cosmetic skin to celebrate the Lunar New Year.
Temporal Diver Mode is designed for players seeking a more streamlined experience while maintaining the tension and core mechanics of the game. The mode increases player health and reduces overall enemy difficulty, offering a less punishing alternative to the existing options. Bloober Team stated that the addition was driven by community feedback from players who wanted a more accessible way to experience the game.
With this update, New Game Plus is now available across every difficulty level. After completing the game once, players can start a new playthrough while carrying over character progression, allowing them to tackle higher or lower difficulties with previously earned upgrades intact.
Cronos: The New Dawn now features three difficulty modes. Temporal Diver Mode serves as the newest and most accessible option. Anvil of the Collective remains the standard setting, while Forged in Fire Mode, which unlocks after completing Anvil of the Collective, continues to represent the most demanding challenge currently available.
Game Director Jacek Zięba said the team always intended for Cronos to offer a significant challenge but wanted to provide a more relaxed entry point for those interested in the story and atmosphere without the same level of difficulty.
In addition to the gameplay update, Bloober Team has released the Iron Rider Skin for the Traveler. Inspired by the Year of the Horse, the armor features a fiery visual design and is available globally across all platforms as a free addition. Players can access the skin by updating their game.
The studio is also marking the season with themed bundles on Steam, pairing Cronos: The New Dawn with Karma: The Dark World and Crisol: Theater of Idols. Meanwhile, the game is currently discounted by up to 30% across platforms, with sale timing varying depending on the storefront.
The Temporal Diver update is available now on PS5 and PC, with additional platform updates coming soon.
