CyberConnect2 Teases New Game Reveal Set for February 16

by Ali Haider

CyberConnect2 has officially begun teasing a new game project, with a full reveal scheduled for February 16 at 20:09 Japan Time. The announcement is currently accompanied by a dedicated teaser website, published by the studio ahead of the planned reveal event.

The teaser does not disclose any concrete details about the project itself, including its genre, platform targets, or whether it is based on an existing intellectual property or an original concept. Instead, the site simply points to the date and time of the reveal, signaling that CyberConnect2 intends to formally unveil the project in the coming days.

The timing of the announcement is notable, as CyberConnect2 is approaching its 30th anniversary in 2026. The Fukuoka-based studio, led by CEO Hiroshi Matsuyama, has built a reputation over the years for its distinctive “playable anime” presentation style and cinematic approach to action games. The company has worked extensively on globally recognized franchises while also expanding into self-published projects.

In recent years, CyberConnect2 has maintained a steady output. In May 2025, the studio released Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3, which concluded its self-published Trilogy of Vengeance. The project marked a significant milestone for the company, demonstrating its ability to develop and release original titles independently, outside of licensed properties.

The studio also released Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles 2 in July 2025. The sequel built upon the original game by covering later arcs of the anime series and continuing CyberConnect2’s established approach to fast-paced, cinematic combat design. Alongside new releases, the company has continued to support Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot with additional downloadable content, including the DAIMA – Adventure Through the Demon Realm packs released in late 2025.

CyberConnect2 has also expanded its production capabilities by opening a new Osaka office in 2024, intended to support high-fidelity video production and future development needs. This expansion reflects a broader effort by the studio to scale its operations while maintaining its signature visual identity.
