Danganronpa 2×2 is described as a high-speed deductive action game that revisits the world and characters of Danganronpa 2 Goodbye Despair while introducing a completely new storyline. Although the setting and cast remain familiar to fans of the original game, the narrative will unfold differently due to a pivotal incident that sets off an entirely new chain of events. According to the publisher, this alternate scenario will feature different victims, culprits, and mysteries to solve, offering a comparable amount of content to the original story.
Spike Chunsoft also confirmed the full English voice lineup for the game. Brian Beacock returns as the voice of Monokuma, while Rebecca Forstadt voices Monomi. Johnny Yong Bosch reprises his role as Hajime Hinata, alongside Bryce Papenbrook as Nagito Komaeda and Chris Tergliafera as Gundham Tanaka.
Other returning cast members include Kyle Hebert as Kazuichi Soda, Jason Wishnov as Byakuya Togami, Todd Haberkorn as Teruteru Hanamura, Patrick Seitz as Nekomaru Nidai, and Derek Stephen Prince as Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu. The cast also features Wendee Lee as Akane Owari, Christine Marie Cabanos as Chiaki Nanami, Natalie Hoover as Sonia Nevermind, Kira Buckland as Hiyoko Saionji, Carrie Keranen as Mahiru Koizumi, Stephanie Sheh as Mikan Tsumiki, Julie Ann Taylor as Ibuki Mioda, and Janice Kawaye as Peko Pekoyama.
In addition to the announcement, Spike Chunsoft released a video introducing the English voice actors involved in the project. The company also confirmed that pre-orders are available through its official online store for a special edition called the Danganronpa 2×2 Psycho Tropical Vacation Package.
Standard physical editions are currently available for pre-order on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 5 through various retailers. More information regarding additional pre-order options is expected to be shared by retailers ahead of the game’s release window.
Danganronpa 2×2 aims to offer both a fresh storyline and a reimagined take on the events of Danganronpa 2 Goodbye Despair, giving longtime fans and newcomers a new perspective on the series’ signature mystery-driven gameplay when it arrives in 2026.
