Dead or Alive 6 Last Round Launches June 25

by Greg Martin

KOEI TECMO America and Team NINJA have announced that Dead or Alive 6 Last Round will launch on June 25, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and Windows PC via Steam. The release will include both a standard edition and a free-to-play version arriving on the same day. Alongside the announcement, the publisher confirmed that development has begun on the next new game in the Dead or Alive franchise.

Dead or Alive 6 Last Round is described as the definitive edition of Dead or Alive 6, which previously shipped more than 900,000 copies worldwide and recorded over 8 million downloads for its free-to-play edition. The updated release includes the original roster of 24 fighters, as well as five additional characters from the game’s DLC lineup: Nyotengu, Phase 4, Momiji, Rachel, and Tamaki.

Several characters, including Kasumi and Marie Rose, will also receive five new costumes inspired by other Team NINJA titles, such as Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor’s Edge and Dead or Alive Xtreme Venus Vacation. A new Photo Mode has been added, allowing players to adjust character positions and poses to capture customized screenshots during matches.

The game has been optimized for current-generation hardware and will support the transfer of DLC costumes, premium tickets, and save data from the original Dead or Alive 6 standard edition.

The free-to-play version, titled Dead or Alive 6 Last Round Core Fighters, will launch simultaneously. At release, Kasumi, Marie Rose, Honoka, and NiCO will be available to play in the free edition. Photo Mode and online features, including DOA Quest and DOA Central, will also be accessible.

Team NINJA confirmed that additional content updates are planned following launch, including new costumes and characters for both the standard and free versions over the coming year. More details on those updates are expected at a later date.
