Update: Here is a video comparison.

As seen in the screenshots above, Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster features completely reworked character models and environments, improved texture work, improved lighting, improved shadows, and some additional post-process effects. It’s clear that there is a major graphical overhaul here over the 2006 original here. That said, it doesn’t appear to be some sort of a re-imagining of the game. As such, fans of the original can expect much of the original experience to be preserved, though with some major audiovisual enhancements.

Dead Rising is a 2006 action adventure game developed and published by Capcom. Its story follows photojournalist Frank West, who becomes trapped in a zombie-infested shopping mall in Willamette, Colorado. Frank must solve the mystery behind the outbreak before a rescue helicopter arrives in three days. The game has multiple endings based on the player’s actions. The game is played from a third-person perspective. It is designed as an open world game, where players are free to explore the Willamette Parkview Mall. They must survive by scavenging for items to fight zombies and hostile human characters called psychopaths while rescuing friendly human characters known as survivors. The game has a 72-hour time limit to complete the story.

Dead Rising was released on August 8, 2006, originally for the Xbox 360. To celebrate its tenth anniversary, the game was re-released on September 13, 2016, for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One.
