Recently, developer Kojima Productions revealed new details on the PC port of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, confirming a range of technical enhancements and gameplay additions. It introduces several platform-specific upgrades, including support for Nvidia DLSS, AMD FSR, and Intel XeSS, along with frame generation and uncapped frame rates. Players will also have access to customizable graphics settings, super ultrawide support at 32:9 during gameplay, and ultrawide 21:9 support for cutscenes. Full mouse and keyboard controls are included, alongside DualSense controller compatibility with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, as well as spatial audio support.
For users with more powerful hardware, additional graphical options such as ray-traced reflections and ambient occlusion can be enabled. These features enhance lighting and surface detail, particularly in environments with water and complex geometry, though they are optional and not required for the intended experience.
Beyond technical improvements, the update introduces new gameplay content. A newly added difficulty mode, titled To The Wilder, is designed for players seeking a more demanding challenge, featuring harsher environments and tougher enemy encounters. A new VR training area allows players to revisit key battles, while additional cosmetic items, such as bandanas, can be unlocked. The update also expands the game’s photo mode and introduces new interactions, including appearances from the Chiral Feline aboard the DHV Magellan.
