by Greg Martin

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is set to launch on PC on March 19, with Nixxes and Kojima Productions outlining full system requirements and feature support ahead of release. The PC version follows the game’s earlier debut on PS5 and aims to deliver scalable performance across a wide range of hardware configurations.

The PC edition will include graphics presets ranging from Low to Very High, along with a Portable preset tailored for handheld gaming devices. At the minimum specification, players can expect 1080p at 30 FPS using a GTX 1660 or Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB paired with an Intel Core i3 10100 or Ryzen 3 3100 and 16GB of RAM. Storage requirements sit at 150GB on an SSD, with Windows 10 or 11 required.

For 1080p at 60 FPS on Medium settings, the recommended GPUs include an RTX 3060 12GB or RX 6600 with a Core i5 11400 or Ryzen 5 5600. The High preset targets 1440p at 60 FPS with an RTX 3070 or RX 6800 and a Core i7 11700 or Ryzen 7 5700X. The Very High preset is aimed at 4K at 60 FPS, recommending an RTX 4080 or Radeon RX 9070 XT alongside the same CPU tier and 16GB of RAM.

Performance-enhancing technologies will be available at launch, including NVIDIA DLSS 4, AMD FSR 4, and Intel XeSS 2, all supporting both upscaling and frame generation. The PC release also introduces Pico, a Progressive Image Compositor developed by Guerrilla for the Decima engine and previously used in the PS5 version. Pico upscaling is compatible with all supported graphics cards and can be combined with frame generation and Dynamic Resolution Scaling. Native anti-aliasing options are also included for players prioritizing image quality.

Ultrawide support is another focus of the PC version. All cutscenes are presented in 21:9, while gameplay supports 32:9 on compatible displays. Players using 16:9 monitors can also enable widescreen aspect ratios through display settings to achieve a broader field of view. A 21:9 ultrawide option will also be added to the PS5 version through an update timed with the PC release.

Alongside the PC launch, a PlayStation-themed Porter Suit Link and Patch Link will be distributed to PS5 players via an update. PC players will receive the same items by connecting their account for PlayStation.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is available now for pre-purchase on Steam and the Epic Games Store ahead of its March 19 release.
