Death Stranding 2: On the Beach has received an ESRB rating for Windows PC, indicating that the sequel is now formally listed for release on the platform under Sony Interactive Entertainment. The rating appeared on the ESRB website, suggesting that the title is progressing toward a PC launch following its initial release on PlayStation 5. The first game in the series arrived on PC eight months after its PS4 debut, though the current listing does not specify any timeframe for when the new version may become available. This development marks the first official classification pointing toward a PC edition.

The ESRB details the Windows PC version with a Mature 17+ rating for Blood and Gore, Partial Nudity, Strong Language, and Violence. According to the board’s summary, “Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is rated M for Mature 17+ by the ESRB with Blood and Gore, Partial Nudity, Strong Language, and Violence. This is an action game in which players assume the role of a courier (Sam Porter Bridges) attempting to reconnect society in a post-apocalyptic world.” The summary further notes that the title features third-person exploration in an open world setting, with combat against human enemies, androids, and supernatural entities. Weapons range from melee tools such as a battle guitar to firearms, including machine guns and sniper rifles. Additional violent scenes include dismemberment by a robotic samurai, a man set on fire, and a character cut in half by a large machine. The word “f**k” is also heard during gameplay.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach continues the narrative begun in the first title, once again following Sam Porter Bridges on a journey to unite scattered survivors. Set eleven months after the events of the original game, the sequel explores new regions beyond the United Cities of America as Sam and his allies work to prevent humanity’s extinction. The setting shifts primarily to the Australian continent, which is depicted as a vast environment shaped by natural disasters and otherworldly threats. The game was written and directed by Hideo Kojima and features expanded action and stealth systems, offering greater flexibility to the player. It first launched exclusively for PlayStation 5 on June 26, 2025.

The appearance of the ESRB rating is the clearest indication yet that the PC release is moving forward, with Sony listed as the publisher for the Windows version. While no additional information accompanies the rating, the listing itself establishes that preparations for a PC launch are now underway.
