The expanded stealth options available to players in Kojima Productions’ upcoming action-adventure game, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, include decoy holograms, silent takedowns and long-range gear.

The official PlayStation website has been updated with new information on Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, according to which the game will feature a range of new stealth options for players to explore. This includes decoy holograms, silent takedowns and long-range gear. In addition, protagonist Sam Porter Bridges will have the opportunity to learn new skills, such as enhanced weapon fire-rates and reduced movement noise to help him stay hidden.

Furthermore, the Death Stranding 2: On the Beach page on the official PlayStation states that players will encounter Mech soldiers, never before seen BTs, and new boss types that will push Sam to his limits. In order to equip themselves for such threats, players will be able to fabricate weapons such as machine guns, shotguns and grenade launchers.

The Social Strand System featured in the original is making its return in the sequel. It will now allow players to grow their reputation by supporting other players on their journeys, which in turn will give them access to valuable resources and new gear.

In addition to the sandstorms seen during trailers and gameplay footage, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach players will also encounter other natural disasters, including earthquakes and forest fires.

For those wondering about details on the PS5 Pro version of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, the official PlayStation website now mentions that players will be able to enjoy an enhanced experience on the mid-gen console. No details on specific improvements over the base PS5 have been shared at this time. If we were to guess, given how the game runs on Guerrilla Games’ Decima engine, it will likely use the latter’s in-house temporal upscaling solution instead of PSSR, as was the case with the PS5 Pro versions of Horizon: Zero Dawn Remastered and Horizon: Forbidden West.
