Hideo Kojima has revealed several updates planned for Death Stranding 2 as the game prepares for its upcoming PC release. The information was shared during a recent podcast appearance and later translated by Genki_JPN.
Among the additions is a new, harder difficulty option titled To The Wilder, along with the introduction of new items and a number of gameplay adjustments based on collected player data. Kojima also confirmed that live-action scenes previously cut from the game due to storage limitations will be added in the updated version.
Several smaller features and quality of life changes are also planned. Players will be able to replay Neil battles at any time, while the character Chiral Cat will appear in Sam’s room on the DHMV Magellan. Kojima also mentioned that many additional minor adjustments are being implemented.
The PC version will include technical features such as UltraWide display support and PlayStation 5 controller compatibility. According to Kojima, new updates will also be released for the PlayStation 5 version at the same time as the PC launch. He further noted that a new trailer edited by him will be released soon.
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is scheduled to launch on PC on March 19, 2026. The game originally debuted as a PlayStation 5 exclusive on June 26, 2025. Developed by Kojima Productions and ported to PC by Nixxes Software.
The PC version will release globally on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Alongside the PC specific features, the update will introduce new modes that will also be patched into the PS5 version. Across the franchise as a whole, Death Stranding has now reached around 20 million players worldwide across its previous entries.
