Kojima Productions has released Update 1.009 for Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, which primarily introduces the highly anticipated Mandarin Chinese voice-over option. The update, available from October 22, 2025, at 12:00 AM CST, allows players to experience the game’s dialogue and performances fully localized in Mandarin for the first time. This addition enhances accessibility and immersion for Chinese-speaking audiences while maintaining the studio’s cinematic quality and performance-driven storytelling.

While the official announcement focuses on the language update, it is also expected that the patch includes minor bug fixes and performance improvements, continuing Kojima Productions’ commitment to polishing the player experience. This follows the previous update (version 1.008), which addressed camera stutter issues and refined stability and performance across multiple gameplay scenarios.
