Death Stranding Director’s Cut Update 1.005 Adds Power Save Mode

by Ali Haider

A new patch has been released for Death Stranding Director’s Cut, bringing the game to version 1.005 and adding support for Power Save Mode. This update follows a pattern seen across Sony’s first-party lineup, as several titles—including Demon’s Souls and Days Gone—have recently received similar updates. While the patch notes mention no additional gameplay or technical changes, the addition of Power Save Mode is believed to align with preparations for Sony’s upcoming PlayStation handheld device, which reportedly supports lower-power play sessions optimized for reduced performance and resolution.

The update subtly enhances compatibility for energy-efficient operation, though players should not expect visible gameplay or visual adjustments. It represents part of a broader trend by Sony to future-proof its games for a more versatile hardware ecosystem, ensuring older first-party releases remain compatible across devices and configurations.
