DELTARUNE Update 1.04 Fixes Major Chapter 3 and 4 Bugs Across All Platforms

A new update for DELTARUNE has gone live with patch version 1.04, introducing several bug fixes and gameplay improvements across Chapters 3 and 4. The update resolves critical crashes and gameplay glitches, including fixes for Lancer inventory errors, Susie’s movement animations, and issues with interactive objects during battles.

Players will now find better continuity between chapters, such as the ability to retrieve the SpinCake based on actions in Chapter 1. In addition to battle behavior tweaks and fixes for rare softlocks, this update addresses controller conflicts and various text and UI inconsistencies across all platforms. Version numbers have been updated for each chapter to reflect the changes.

Chapter 3 Fixes:

  • Added a method to obtain the “TripTicket” even after acquiring “ShadowMantle”
  • Lancers can no longer be mistakenly retained in the inventory
  • Susie’s post-battle movement in the house-kicking room corrected
  • Resolved a softlock issue during the Pushing Buddies sequence
  • Fixed a frame-perfect crash when throwing and checking a breaking shell
  • Addressed a frame-perfect crash related to checking water-logged binoculars

Chapter 4 Fixes:

  • Players who gave the “TopCake” in Chapter 1 can now obtain the “SpinCake” from the “Top Chef”
  • Decreased bullet speed in one of Jackenstein’s attacks
  • Resolved issue with the “OldMan” ACT causing unintended behavior with Guei
  • Toriel no longer answers the phone at the start of the chapter
  • Prevented interaction with a non-existent snack tray
  • Corrected a bug that allowed “DualHeal” ACT to be skipped
  • Fixed a bug that caused Susie’s turn to be skipped under specific conditions during a key boss battle

Various Chapters:

  • Corrected several minor visual errors
  • Addressed small text and font inconsistencies
  • Fixed custom keyboard control resets when connecting new controllers
  • Resolved input errors caused by using USB and Bluetooth controllers simultaneously

Deltarune is an episodic role-playing game developed by Toby Fox. Chapters 1 and 2 were released for free in 2018 and 2021, while Chapters 3 and 4 launched together as part of a paid edition in 2025. Future chapters will be added to the paid version at no additional cost.
