The developer mentioned that they have already worked on two open-world PS5 titles with Pro support and are currently working on a third game. Koralsky noted that it’s easier to just use Dynamic Resolution Scaling (DRS) for the PS5 Pro version and let it scale to a higher resolution while running at the same graphical settings as the base PS5 game. According to him, this is not the point of the mid-gen console, pointing towards the 3 key components PlayStation architect had stressed upon in his PS5 Pro technical presentation, namely a larger GPU, advanced ray tracing, and AI-driven upscaling. He gave the example of one of his previous titles, Truck Driver The American Dream, taking proper advantage of the mid-gen console by leveraging these 3 components. The end result is a game that can look quite different on PS5 Pro and base PS5. He pointed out that a few games from other developers, such as Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, have also been able to achieve such results on the more powerful PS5 variant.

Lastly, the developer said that creating aroper PS5 Pro versions by taking full advantage of the hardware capabilities will allow games to look even better on Sony’s next console, the PS6.
