Everything Coming to Disney Plus in April 2026

by Greg Martin

Disney Plus is rolling into April 2026 with a content slate that leans heavily on its biggest franchises while continuing to experiment with how audiences engage with streaming. The platform is not just adding new series and films, it is also expanding into curated marathon streams and live events, which gives the service a slightly different rhythm compared to a traditional on-demand library.

The month is headlined by the continued rollout of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, alongside the debut of Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord. The latter explores one of the franchise’s more complex antagonists, offering a deeper look into the character’s story through a multi-episode structure. These tentpole releases are supported by a steady stream of weekly content, which, to be honest, seems to be Disney Plus settling comfortably into an episodic cadence rather than dropping everything at once.

Beyond franchise heavy hitters, April also introduces a range of documentaries, international series, and family programming. Disneynature’s Orangutan arrives as part of the platform’s Earth Day offerings, while new animated and children’s content continues to fill out the catalog. At the same time, Disney Plus is expanding its always-on streaming concept with themed channels dedicated to long-running series and nostalgic properties, which is an interesting shift that may or may not stick depending on how audiences respond.

What Is Leaving Disney Plus in April

Disney Plus has not announced any titles leaving the platform for April at the time of writing.

April presents a fairly strategic content rollout for Disney Plus, balancing major franchise storytelling with experimental features like continuous streams and live broadcasts. The addition of Star Wars and Marvel content will likely draw the most attention, but the broader lineup suggests a platform that is trying to evolve beyond simple catalog expansion. Whether that approach resonates widely is another matter, though it certainly makes the service feel more active on a week-to-week basis.
