Disney has officially released the first trailer and poster for The Mandalorian and Grogu, offering fans a fresh look at the upcoming Star Wars adventure. The film, directed by Jon Favreau and co-written with longtime collaborator Dave Filoni, will continue the story of Din Djarin and his small but iconic companion, Grogu, on the big screen.

The newly revealed poster features Din Djarin, played by Pedro Pascal, flying alongside Grogu through a dramatic red-and-orange-hued backdrop. The title appears prominently in bold green lettering with the tagline “Only in theaters! May 22” directly beneath it. The design draws inspiration from vintage movie advertisements, carrying the playful slogan, “If you’re searching for new adventure… THIS IS THE WAY.”

The trailer, released alongside the poster, offers the first cinematic glimpse into the continuation of the storyline from The Mandalorian television series, which originally aired from 2019 to 2023 on Disney+. Favreau and Filoni had initially developed a fourth season of the series, but after production delays caused by the 2023 Hollywood labor disputes, Lucasfilm shifted focus to a feature film. The Mandalorian and Grogu was officially announced in January 2024, with filming taking place in California between August and December 2024.

The movie will star Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin, with Sigourney Weaver, Jeremy Allen White, and Jonny Coyne joining the cast in undisclosed roles. Produced by Lucasfilm and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the film is expected to expand the Star Wars universe while maintaining the adventurous tone of the series.

The Mandalorian and Grogu is set to premiere in U.S. theaters on May 22, 2026, marking the return of the bounty hunter and his companion to the galaxy far, far away.
