Dispatch Hits Two Million Players Worldwide

by Greg Martin

Dispatch has attracted more than two million players worldwide, marking a substantial achievement for AdHoc Studio only weeks following the completion of its initial episodic release schedule. The studio publicly recognized the milestone, noting, “We’re also sad there are no new episodes this week, but thank you to the 2 million players that have joined us so far. Wouldn’t be here without you.” The message conveys both appreciation and the studio’s acknowledgment of the strong audience response that has been continuously growing since the game’s launch.

Since Dispatch is currently available exclusively as a digital title, this rapid increase in player count suggests its commercial performance has been notably strong. However, it is an important distinction that digital access can sometimes be shared among multiple individuals, meaning the total player number may not align directly with one-to-one sales figures. Even with this caveat, reaching this level of engagement in a short period remains a significant achievement and highlights the game’s increasing influence within the crowded narrative adventure genre.

Developed by AdHoc Studio, a team founded by former Telltale Games developers, Dispatch was created to modernize and expand the choice-driven storytelling popularized by its creators. The game is framed as an episodic superhero workplace comedy centered around narrative decision-making, which blends character-driven humor with strategic management. Players assume the role of Robert Robertson III, voiced by actor Aaron Paul, who is a once disgraced superhero and who now works as a dispatcher for the Superhero Dispatch Network. His duties include assigning a chaotic roster of former villains to incoming emergencies across the city, managing complex office relationships, and guiding his own personal attempt to repair his damaged suit.

The project consisted of eight episodes that launched on a weekly cadence, beginning October 22, 2025, and concluding on November 12. This structure promoted regular player engagement while also maintaining the studio’s emphasis on careful story pacing and consistent character development. Dispatch is currently accessible on PC through Steam and on PlayStation 5, and the predictable rhythm of its release window likely contributes to sustaining player attention throughout the season.
