Dispatch Surpasses 3 Million Players Following Strong Launch

by Ali Haider

Dispatch has officially surpassed three million players worldwide, marking a major commercial milestone for the episodic narrative title just months after its debut. Developer AdHoc Studio confirmed the achievement, highlighting the game’s rapid growth since its initial release in late 2025.

The game launched on October 22, 2025, for PlayStation 5 and PC, adopting an episodic release structure that concluded with its eighth and final episode on November 12, 2025. Despite operating in a genre often viewed as niche, Dispatch quickly gained momentum, reaching a substantial portion of its audience in a relatively short time frame. According to the studio, the 3 million player mark represents roughly two-thirds of its original three-year target, achieved in just over two months.

Dispatch is developed by AdHoc Studio, a team formed by former Telltale Games developers. The game blends superhero fiction with workplace comedy, placing players in the role of Robert Robertson, also known as Mecha Man. After losing his suit, the former hero is reassigned to a dispatch center, where he must manage a team of rehabilitated ex-villains while responding to city-wide crises and navigating internal office dynamics. The emphasis on dialogue-driven decision-making and character relationships forms the core of the experience.

Player engagement metrics suggest strong ongoing interest. On Steam, Dispatch currently holds an Overwhelmingly Positive rating, supported by a peak of more than 16,000 concurrent players. Beyond direct playtime, the game has also generated significant viewership across streaming platforms, with approximately 23 million hours of gameplay watched on Twitch and YouTube combined.

The game’s reach is expected to expand further later this month. Dispatch is scheduled to launch on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on January 28, 2026. The Switch 2 version will include a free upgrade, offering enhanced resolution and frame rates compared to the base release. This upcoming launch introduces the title to a new audience and positions it for another surge in player numbers.

With its first season now complete and player counts continuing to rise, AdHoc Studio has indicated that plans for a second season are already being considered. While no formal announcement has been made, the game’s early performance suggests that Dispatch has exceeded initial expectations. What began as a dialogue-heavy superhero experiment has quickly established itself as one of the more notable narrative successes of the past year.
