Donkey Kong Bananza Update 2.0.0 Adds DK Island, Emerald Rush, and Major Improvements

The latest update for Donkey Kong Bananza, Version 2.0.0, brings exciting new content and important gameplay improvements. Players can now access the paid DLC, DK Island and Emerald Rush, which adds fresh challenges and exploration opportunities. Entry to these areas varies depending on whether the main game has been cleared, with Squawks and the Elder guiding players toward the new content.

Beyond the DLC, this update also makes a major quality-of-life change by increasing the Banandium Chip storage limit from 9,999 to 99,999. Nintendo has also implemented several adjustments and bug fixes aimed at refining the overall gameplay experience.

Full Patch Notes:

  • Added support for the paid DLC DK Island & Emerald Rush.
  • If the main game is not cleared yet, DK Island can be accessed by talking to Squawks at the Racing Layer.
  • If the main game has been cleared, DK Island can be accessed by striking the Warp Gong after hearing about the “Bananza Rehearsal” from the Elder.
  • Emerald Rush becomes playable on DK Island by talking to Void Kong.
  • Increased the Banandium Chip storage limit from 9,999 to 99,999.
  • Several other changes and fixes implemented to improve gameplay experience.

Donkey Kong Bananza is a 2025 platform game developed by Nintendo EPD for the Nintendo Switch 2. The game was released on July 17, 2025, marking the first original Donkey Kong title since 2014 and the first 3D entry since 1999.
