Bandai Namco has officially announced a new Dragon Ball game project titled Dragon Ball Age 1000, with a planned global release in 2027. The project was revealed alongside a debut announcement trailer and introduces a completely new Dragon Ball world, original characters, and a new protagonist designed by Akira Toriyama.
The announcement confirms that Dragon Ball Age 1000 will feature an entirely original setting known as AGE 1000, positioned as a new era within the broader Dragon Ball universe. Players will experience a brand-new storyline and encounter multiple original characters as the adventure progresses. The trailer highlights the first reveal of a never-before-seen character created by Toriyama, with additional characters planned to be introduced over time.
According to the project description, Dragon Ball Age 1000 is an upcoming action role-playing game developed and published by Bandai Namco. The title serves as a major new entry in the franchise and was formally unveiled on January 25, 2026, during the Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri event. The setting takes place in the distant future of the Dragon Ball timeline, a period previously associated with the now-defunct MMORPG Dragon Ball Online.
Bandai Namco also emphasized the scale and ambition of the project. In an official statement, the company said, “More elements and settings were packed into AGE1000 than in any other game in the past and Mr. Toriyama has put a lot of work into it.” The comment suggests a heavier focus on world-building and environmental variety compared to previous Dragon Ball titles.
Bandai Namco has confirmed that additional information about Dragon Ball Age 1000 will be revealed during Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026, which will take place in the United States on April 18 and 19 PST. The company has stated that the latest updates will be shown both to in-person attendees and through a livestream, making it the next major milestone for the project’s public reveal cycle.
At this stage, platforms for Dragon Ball Age 1000 have not been announced. Likewise, no release window beyond the 2027 launch year has been provided. Despite the limited details, the combination of an original setting, a new protagonist, and direct creative involvement from Akira Toriyama positions the project as one of the most ambitious Dragon Ball game initiatives to date.
