The January 2026 patch for Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO introduces a new solo challenge mode, expands menu structure, and delivers multiple battle system adjustments. The update adds Mission 100 under a newly created Ultimate Battle menu, alongside a higher CPU difficulty setting for Versus and expanded options in Custom Battle.
In addition to mode updates, the patch focuses on refining combat mechanics, skill behavior, and Blast functionality. Quality-of-life improvements such as bulk purchasing and expanded player statistics round out the update.

Game Mode Updates
- Added Ultimate Battle to the Main Menu.
- Moved Custom Battle into the Ultimate Battle section.
- Added a new solo play mode, Mission 100, within Ultimate Battle.
- Added a new CPU difficulty level, Ultra, above Super in Versus mode.
- Increased the maximum CPU level to 21 in Custom Battle Edit Mode.
Battle System Adjustments
- Increased ki recovery when deflecting a Blast with Super Perception.
- Added a ki-reduction effect to Rush Ki Wave when the opponent guards.
- Reduced ki consumption for Jump Rush Blast.
- Reduced ki consumption for Dash Rush Ki Blast on characters that fire seven or more shots.
- Fixed an issue where some Smash Ki Blasts did not knock down opponents even on consecutive hits.
- Made it easier for tall characters to land follow-up Vanishing Attacks on grounded opponents.
- Disabled certain counter actions during ki depletion.
- Fixed the button-mashing UI not displaying correctly during action lock.
Skill Changes
- Solar Flare effect no longer ends when approaching an affected opponent using Dragon Dash or Z-Burst Dash.
Blast Adjustments
- Adjusted rear hitbox positioning for forward-firing projectile and beam Blasts during firing.
- Improved hit consistency for charge-type and rush-type Blasts at point-blank range.
- Disabled some Blasts from activating when Z-Search is disabled.
- Enabled certain Explosion-type Blasts to activate when Z-Search is disabled.
- Made Cell Max: Max Bomb unblockable.
Quality of Life Updates
- Added a bulk-purchase feature to the Shop.
- Added new Player Card statistics.
- Longest Ranked Single Battle Win Streak for current season and lifetime.
- Longest Ranked DP Battle Win Streak for current season and lifetime.
