Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe has released Dragon Ball Sparking Zero on both the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, expanding the availability of the franchise’s latest fighting title. The game, developed by Spike Chunsoft, is now offered in Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate Editions for both systems.
According to the publisher, the release marks the return of the Budokai Tenkaichi style of arena combat, a format closely associated with Spike Chunsoft’s earlier work on the Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi series. The new title features more than one hundred eighty playable characters drawn from Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Super, Dragon Ball GT, and several films. Bandai Namco states that all fighters are included in the base version of the game, though no information has been provided on post-launch additions or downloadable content plans.
The game introduces updated mechanics built around fast-paced movement and large-scale environmental destruction. Bandai Namco describes the combat system as designed to replicate moments from the anime, including high-impact attacks and ability-driven encounters.
Single-player content includes a mode that reenacts selected story battles from the franchise. Players can also access customization features and online competitive play. The Switch and Switch 2 versions additionally support local multiplayer and motion-based controls through Joy-Con hardware. The announcement does not specify whether there are functional differences between these platform versions beyond performance scaling.
Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is also available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC.
