Techland’s latest release, Dying Light: The Beast, has received graphics comparison across PlayStation 5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series consoles, offering players a clear look at how each system handles the survival horror experience. While all versions of the game deliver a stable performance, subtle differences in resolution and visual settings reveal the strengths and compromises of each platform.
On both PS5 and Xbox Series X, players can choose between two display modes: one prioritizing resolution and the other favoring smoother performance. The performance option reduces image quality in exchange for higher frame rates, slightly scaling down aspects such as shadows, lighting, and overall detail. Xbox Series S, however, is limited to a single 30fps mode and does not offer the same flexibility, though its visual downgrade is not considered drastic.
When it comes to resolution, PS5 Pro naturally has the upper hand. While both the PS5 and Xbox Series X can see performance mode dip as low as 540p, the PS5 Pro maintains a somewhat higher baseline at around 576p, making for a cleaner overall presentation. Aside from this edge in image clarity, the majority of settings remain consistent across platforms, with only small sacrifices visible on the Series S in areas such as global lighting and reflections.
Despite these technical variations, Dying Light: The Beast remains a solid visual experience across the board. The game does not suffer from major graphical disparities, and its atmosphere is carried effectively regardless of the system being used. For those seeking the sharpest resolution, the PS5 Pro offers the clearest advantage, though the core experience stays largely intact across all current-gen consoles.
Originally planned as downloadable content for Dying Light 2: Stay Human, Dying Light: The Beast was expanded into a full standalone release. The game launched on September 18, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows, with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions arriving later in the year.
