Techland has revealed the first set of player statistics for Dying Light: The Beast, and the numbers highlight just how committed fans have been since launch. Across the first 12 days of release, players collectively logged 25.6 million hours of playtime, which the developer equates to nearly 2,925 years of uninterrupted survival.
The game’s undead have certainly taken the brunt of that dedication. Over 2.28 billion zombies have been killed so far, with players in the United States leading the global tally at 763 million, followed by China at 402 million, Germany at 274 million, and the United Kingdom at 202 million. In addition to these staggering kill counts, players have executed 59.5 million headshots, 176.7 million dropkicks, and more than 112 million finishing moves.
Some of the more unusual statistics underline the creative chaos that defines Dying Light: The Beast. More than 23.6 million Molotov cocktails have been thrown, 302 million zombies dismembered, and over 334 million run down by vehicles. On the flip side, not everything has gone in the survivors’ favor, as 1.2 million players have been killed by the terrifying Volatiles.
Movement across the game world has also reached impressive milestones. Collectively, players have traveled 152 million kilometers on foot, equivalent to running from Earth to the moon and back nearly 200 times. Vehicles have been both a blessing and a hazard, with over 3.1 million cars catching fire and exploding during gameplay.
Weapon durability has been a significant factor as well. Techland reports that players have repaired more than 26.5 million weapons while destroying another 77 million, with the reinforced camp axe emerging as the most popular choice among survivors.
Released on September 18, 2025, Dying Light: The Beast began as a planned expansion to Dying Light 2: Stay Human before evolving into a full standalone entry. The title is available now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions arriving later this year.
