EA Compensates Battlefield 6 Players With Free XP Boosters and Battle Pass After EA App Outage

Electronic Arts has announced that players who faced login issues on the EA App while trying to access Battlefield 6 earlier today will receive a range of in-game rewards, including XP boosters and a complimentary seasonal Battle Pass. The compensation follows an outage that temporarily prevented PC users, particularly those who pre-ordered the game, from launching or accessing its content.

In an official statement, Battlefield Studios acknowledged the problem and extended an apology to affected players, promising to make amends with tangible perks. “Today, we experienced an outage on the EA App that prevented some of our players who pre-ordered Battlefield 6 from accessing the game, and we know this can be frustrating so we wanted to offer an apology… with perks,” the statement read.

EA confirmed that the issue has since been resolved, but the publisher emphasized that it is “not done” addressing player frustrations. Impacted users will receive 12 Hardware and 12 Career 60-minute Boosters, which are expected to arrive in players’ in-game inboxes over the weekend. Additionally, those affected will be granted full access to a seasonal Battle Pass. Players who purchased the Phantom Edition will specifically receive access to Season 2’s complete Battle Pass as an additional gesture of goodwill.

The login outage first surfaced earlier today, with widespread reports across platforms such as Reddit and X (formerly Twitter) indicating that users were encountering a “Content not installed” error. Many players stated that, despite preloading Battlefield 6 and confirming full installation, the EA App continued to prompt them to “purchase” content that was already installed. Steam users, however, appeared unaffected, pointing to an issue isolated to EA’s proprietary launcher.

Frustrated players attempted various fixes, including repairing game files, reinstalling the title, and removing specific components like the campaign mode, yet few found success. EA later confirmed that clearing the EA App cache served as an effective workaround for most users.

Although technical issues during launch periods are not uncommon, this outage has renewed discussion surrounding the EA App’s reliability compared to third-party platforms such as Steam. Still, EA’s swift acknowledgment and its compensation plan reflect a proactive effort to maintain goodwill among its player base.

With the problem now resolved and bonuses on the way, players can expect to resume their sessions uninterrupted. As Battlefield Studios concluded in its statement, “We want to apologize again for this outage. See you on the Battlefield.”
