Electronic Arts has confirmed the technical specifications for Battlefield 6 across current-generation consoles, outlining how the game will perform on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.
According to the publisher, the Xbox Series S will run Battlefield 6 at 1080p with a target of 60 frames per second. On Xbox Series X, Fidelity Mode offers 1440p at 60fps, while Performance Mode lowers the resolution to 1280p in order to boost frame rates to an average of 80fps. Meanwhile, PlayStation 5 owners can expect 1440p at 60fps in Fidelity Mode, or a Performance Mode that similarly lowers the resolution to 1280p while targeting 80fps. The newly introduced PlayStation 5 Pro pushes performance further, with 2160p at 60fps in Fidelity Mode and 1620p at 80fps in Performance Mode.
During the open beta, players have noted how these different modes affect the visual and gameplay experience. Balanced settings, available on PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X, target 60fps while maintaining higher-quality assets such as improved shadows, terrain detail, and lighting. Performance Mode prioritizes frame rate but often stabilizes closer to 90fps rather than achieving a full 120fps. The Xbox Series S lacks selectable modes, instead relying on scaled-down effects like reduced draw distance and simplified reflections to maintain smooth gameplay.
Interestingly, early comparisons suggest that the PS5 enjoys a slight visual edge over Xbox Series X in particle effects and terrain rendering. The PS5 Pro, on the other hand, clearly benefits from its hardware boost, offering enhanced destruction effects, a higher draw distance, and sharper resolution across both modes.
Despite some variance in frame rate stability under Performance Mode, Battlefield 6 already demonstrates strong optimization for its beta stage. Fans can expect the full launch to arrive on October 10, 2025, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
