Earlier in March, 2025, an individual with access to Playtest builds shared some details, confirming prior claims regarding the regarding Skate’s heavy use microtransactions. According to them, in-game credits aren’t easy to earn. The Playtester confirmed that the in-game store in EA Skate already has microtransactions in place, including bundles for obtaining items like Nike gear. Most of these bundles come with 5-6 items, including clothing, decks, wheels, etc. At this point, the most expensive bundle currently available on the in-game store costs 2,350 San Van Bucks (the game’s in-game currency), which converts to around 20 US Dollars. It includes a mix of clothing and skating items. To make matters worse, in-game credits are tough to earn.
