EA’s latest football game, EA Sports FC 25, is now available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and if you’re on the fence about which version to pick up, read ahead.
The game offers 2 display modes on PS5 and Xbox Series X i.e. Quality and Resolution. As one would expect, Quality mode prioritizes higher graphical fidelity, such as ambient occlusion. Meanwhile, the Xbox Series S version only offers one display mode, which matches the graphical settings seen in Quality mode on the other two consoles. On PC, with a capable system, it is possible to run EA Sports FC 25 with no graphical compromises and get a slightly better visual experience over the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions.
In terms of image quality, the PS5 and Xbox Series X run EA Sports FC 25 at a dynamic resolution in Quality mode that targets 4K (2160p) as the ceiling. In Resolution mode, however, both consoles run the game at a native 4K. 1440p in Quality mode. Meanwhile, the Xbox Series S runs the game at a native resolution of 1080p in its only display mode. On the other hand, it’s possible to run the game at native 4K on capable PC hardware.
With regards to performance, the PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S versions of EA Sports FC 25 target a frame rate of 60 fps during gameplay in both Quality and Resolution modes, and are able to maintain it for the most part. However, during replays, the frame rate is dropped to 30 fps. The PC version is able to run at frame rates above 60 fps on capable hardware.
On the whole, the PC version of EA Sports FC 25 can deliver the best performance, though all console versions run very well, and it ultimately comes down to the ecosystem with the healthiest community and controller preference.
