EA SPORTS FC 26 Update 1.4.2 Improves Goalkeepers

EA SPORTS FC 26 update v1.4.2 is now live on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms, with the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions arriving soon. The patch focuses on gameplay tuning, Career Mode feature additions, and fixes across Clubs and general stability.

Key changes include refinements to goalkeeper anticipation saves, adjustments to knuckle ball shot behavior, new Career Mode contract extension settings, and visual and animation updates across multiple areas.

Patch Notes

Gameplay

  • Fixed goalkeeper deflections being too accurate during anticipation saves
  • Reduced frequency of inaccurate knuckle ball shots occurring more often than intended

Career Mode

  • Added Contract Extension setting under Transfer and Scouting
    • Allows choosing how open players are to contract extensions
  • Updated scheduling loading screen visuals and animations
  • Added Social Media panel that surfaces active Challenge Objectives during challenge scenarios
  • Fixed players not always receiving new contracts after requesting a transfer
  • Fixed women’s teams unintentionally appearing in some leagues within Live Start Points

Clubs

  • Fixed goalkeepers holding the ball longer than intended when a pass was requested
  • Fixed short-term stamina only recovering when players became idle

General, Audio, and Visual

  • Updated various badges, logos, hair, boots, star heads, lighting, kits, tattoos, 2D portraits, scarves, banners, cameras, button callouts, overlays, and TIFOs
  • Fixed various stability-related issues

EA SPORTS FC 26 launched on September 26, 2025, and is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Update v1.4.2 is now live on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms, with Switch versions coming soon.
