EA Sports FC 26 Update 1.5.3 Improves Gameplay And Career Mode

EA Sports has released update 1.5.3 for EA Sports FC 26, focusing on gameplay fairness, interface clarity, and general stability improvements. The patch introduces a key gameplay fix to prevent time wasting exploits involving goalkeepers, ensuring matches play out more authentically.

In addition, Career Mode receives several quality of life enhancements, particularly around UI readability and progression clarity. Ultimate Team and general presentation elements have also been refined, alongside multiple bug fixes across the experience.

Patch Notes

Gameplay

  • Fixed exploit where repeated backpasses to the goalkeeper could be used to waste time
    • Goalkeepers will now kick the ball out of play in excessive scenarios
    • Change does not affect normal backpass behavior

Ultimate Team

  • Fixed issue where some kits and badges were not searchable in the transfer market
  • Fixed Player Celebration animation previews not displaying correctly

Career Mode

  • Added separator in European competition standings to clarify playoff qualification spots
  • Automatically adds applied team to watchlist when applying for a job
  • Added labels next to team crests to differentiate men’s and women’s teams in challenges
  • Improved challenge completion UI with clearer explanation of saves and career progress
  • Upgraded managers with low job security to Okay status at end of season

Career Mode Fixes

  • Fixed managers being assigned to incorrect teams when selecting Icons and Heroes
  • Fixed ICON players requesting unrealistically low wages during negotiations
  • Fixed League winning teams being placed in incorrect European competitions
  • Fixed instances of incorrect or overlapping text

General Audio And Visual

  • Updated names, overlays, kits, sponsors, crests, banners, scarves, flags, logos, hair, boots, star heads, and ad boards
  • Fixed various stability issues

EA Sports FC 26 update 1.5.3 is available now across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
