In its review for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Edge praised the game’s sense of freedom and discovery. According to them, if an RPG is measured by the temptation to explore elsewhere before heading to the next objective, this is as great as any. It’s possible to stall for hours finding and investigating one magical environment after another. Though, treks off the critical path often trivialize the challenge offered by main objectives.
Meanwhile, Edge criticized Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves for being burdened with derivative ideas, disappointing singleplayer offerings and glaring roster anomalies. As per them, SNK’s fighting game series may need some serious rethinking before another entry.
Last month’s issue # 410 featured reviews for Assassin’s Creed Shadows (8), Atomfall (6), Blue Prince (9), South of Midnight (7), The First Berserker: Khazan (6), Promise Mascot Agency (6), Commandos: Origins (7), Fragpunk (6), Despelote (9), Sonokuni (6), and Koira (7).
