eFootball 2022 vs. FIFA 22 Comparison Only Adds To Its Poor Reception

Konami has just released their free-to-play eSports football game, eFootball 2022, and it is already being slammed for being mediocre and full of bugs.

When the game was released earlier this week, it quickly became one of the worst user-reviewed games on Steam. It was mostly because the game was broken beyond playable levels. It also had one of the worst character models in a Pro Evolution game.

There was a point in time when Pro Evolution could compete in equal terms to the EA Sports FIFA franchise, but it appears this is no longer the case. The new free-to-play release has been controversial even before launch when it was announced that it no longer will be a paid game. Fans feared the worse, and it has turned out to be true after all.

In the video comparison, we can easily see the terrible state of affairs with the game that covers almost every aspect from animation to gameplay. The collision detection doesn’t work as intended, the characters are twitchy, and the player models, when stacked against the FIFA 22 models, look like they are from an older generation.

At the moment, it is unclear what Konami is planning to do with the game. It is still available on PC and consoles and so far, they haven’t outlined any fixes. It will be quite hard to fix the major issues that are plaguing the game. There are now countless memes spanning the glitches which might be funny to see, but they further hamper its reputation.
