Eidos Montréal has announced a reduction in its workforce affecting 124 employees, alongside the departure of Head of Studio David Anfossi. The update was shared through an official statement on LinkedIn, outlining changes at the studio tied to shifting project requirements.

In the statement, the company said, “Eidos Montréal is announcing a reduction in its workforce and the departure of Head of Studio, David Anfossi.” The layoffs are attributed to evolving development needs, with the studio noting that “the reduction in workforce affecting 124 employees is a result of changing project needs and impacts across production and support teams.”

The studio described the decision as difficult, emphasizing that it does not reflect on the performance of those affected. “We are deeply grateful to the team members impacted; this decision is not a reflection of their talent, dedication, or performance,” the statement reads, adding that supporting affected employees remains a priority.

Eidos Montréal also confirmed that David Anfossi will be stepping down after several years in the role. “After many years as Head of Studio, David Anfossi and Eidos Montréal are also parting ways,” the company said, noting that a transition plan is already in progress as new leadership is determined.

The studio concluded by reiterating its immediate focus on supporting staff during the transition, stating, “Today, however, our priority is supporting our colleagues.”
